About the Role

Our client, a popular neighborhood grocery store in Bloemfontein, Free State , is looking for a friendly and efficient Retail Sales Cashier to join their dedicated team. This role is fundamental to providing a positive and seamless checkout experience for all customers. You will be responsible for accurately processing transactions, handling cash and card payments, answering customer queries, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the checkout area. The ideal candidate is reliable, customer-focused, and possesses basic mathematical skills. This is an on-site position critical for the daily operations of the store and ensuring customer satisfaction in Bloemfontein .

Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the POS system.
• Handle cash, credit card, and other payment methods with integrity and accuracy.
• Balance the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Answer customer questions regarding products, pricing, and promotions.
• Bag groceries or merchandise for customers.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked checkout area.
• Assist with stocking shelves or basic store duties during slower periods as needed.
• Adhere to all store policies and procedures, including those related to loss prevention.
