Job summary

Placements24 in Cape Town is seeking a Production Floor Manager with 7+ years of manufacturing leadership experience to oversee large-scale operations. You will drive productivity, assure quality, and maintain safe, efficient processes on the shop floor, leading cross-functional teams and coordinating with engineering, maintenance, supply chain and sales.

The role requires hands-on leadership, deep knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma and ERP systems, and a proven ability to meet targets.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive experience in production management within a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all production activities to ensure output targets, quality standards, and delivery schedules are met.
• Supervise, motivate, and develop a diverse team of production operators, technicians, and supervisors.
• Implement and maintain robust quality control systems and procedures to guarantee product integrity.
• Develop, manage, and optimize production schedules, ensuring efficient utilization of resources and machinery.
• Champion and enforce health, safety, and environmental policies and regulations, creating a zero-accident workplace.
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, supply chain, and sales to resolve issues and improve performance.
• Identify and implement process improvements, lean manufacturing initiatives, and cost-reduction strategies.
• Monitor KPIs and generate reports for senior management.
• Manage inventory of raw materials and finished goods to minimize waste.
