Placements24 is seeking a Senior Production Floor Supervisor in Pietermaritzburg to oversee daily manufacturing operations, drive efficiency, and uphold quality standards. You will lead a skilled team, implement robust SOPs, and partner with planning and engineering to ensure timely delivery.

The ideal candidate has extensive production leadership experience, strong problem-solving capabilities, and a track record of safety compliance in a dynamic plant environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Production Supervisor in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrable leadership to motivate and manage a diverse team.
• In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, ISO 9001 quality standards, and lean principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in production management software and MS Office.
• A relevant qualification in Industrial Engineering or Operations Management is advantageous.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage daily production activities to hit output, quality, and safety targets.
• Lead, train, and mentor a team of production operators and line leaders.
• Implement and enforce quality control measures and SOPs across all lines.
• Monitor equipment performance, coordinate maintenance, and drive process improvements.
• Analyze production data, generate KPI reports, and implement corrective actions for deviations.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations on the floor.
• Collaborate with planning, logistics, and engineering to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery.
• Manage shift changes, staffing, and resource allocation.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Identify and resolve operational issues to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
