Placements24 seeks a Chartered Accountant (SA) to assume the role of Financial Controller in Cape Town, Western Cape. The candidate will oversee all accounting operations, ensure IFRS compliance, and drive reporting quality.

Qualifications

• Qualified CA(SA) with strong technical accounting and leadership capability.
• Deep IFRS knowledge and understanding of SA tax legislation.
• Experience in financial control, reporting and internal controls (SOX a plus).
• Proficiency with major ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all accounting operations including GL, AP/AR and payroll.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and audits.
• Develop internal control systems to mitigate risk and protect assets.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management for the unit.
• Provide strategic financial guidance to departments and senior management.
• Mentor and develop the accounting team and drive continuous improvements.
