Job summary

Fancourt in George, South Africa, invites applications for an Assistant Caddie Master to support the Caddie Master in daily caddie operations. You will help schedule, brief and manage caddies and ensure service standards.

The role requires leadership, strong communication, and a hands-on approach to golf operations. You will coordinate tee times, manage pre-bookings, monitor punctuality and maintain professional conduct and guest experience.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Experience in golf operations, caddie management, hospitality or related service environment.
• Strong knowledge of golf, golf etiquette and course operations.
• Experience working in a team with supervisory or team-lead experience advantageous.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and conflict-management skills.
• Ability to handle day-to-day team issues professionally and escalate matters when needed.
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
• Computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Caddie Master with daily caddie rotation, availability, attendance and allocations.
• Coordinate caddie requirements according to tee times, bookings, events and tournaments.
• Ensure fair and effective caddie coverage across members, guests and groups.
• Review tee sheet, manage pre-bookings and respond to changing operational requirements.
• Monitor caddie punctuality, reliability, presentation and readiness.
• Brief caddies on daily operational information and course requirements.
• Maintain professional conduct, guest interaction and compliance with club procedures.
• Manage caddie uniforms, resources and staging area cleanliness.
• Maintain records of attendance, allocations, pre-bookings and guest feedback.
• Communicate with Golf Management, Golf Operations, Golf Concierge and Caddie Team.
