About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and analytical Buyer II to join their expanding procurement department, based remotely but servicing operations in Durban . This role is responsible for the end-to-end purchasing process for a variety of goods and services, ensuring that all purchases are made in a cost-effective and timely manner. You will play a key role in supplier negotiation, managing purchase orders, and maintaining optimal inventory levels. This is an excellent opportunity for a buyer with a few years of experience looking to take on more responsibility and contribute significantly to the efficiency of the supply chain, working within a supportive and technology-driven remote team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and purchase materials, equipment, and supplies in accordance with established company standards and budgets.
• Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers to achieve cost savings and ensure timely delivery.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all order details.
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data, and manage supplier databases.
• Collaborate with internal departments to forecast needs and ensure adequate stock levels to meet operational demands.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in a purchasing or buying role.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency in using procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed purchasing decisions.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a remote setting.
