Purpose of the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Manager to oversee the day-to-day management of the business, ensuring operational excellence, sales growth, recruitment performance, financials, and exceptional client service.

The successful candidate will provide strategic and operational leadership across the organisation by driving business performance, implementing effective sales and recruitment strategies, developing high-performing teams, and ensuring operational efficiencies. This role requires a commercially minded leader who is passionate about achieving results and building a performance-driven culture.

Key Responsibilities

Business Leadership

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the business.
• Support the Managing Director in executing the company's strategic objectives.
• Drive business growth through effective operational and commercial management.
• Develop and implement business improvement initiatives.
• Foster a high-performance and accountable organisational culture.

Sales & Business Development

• Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve business growth.
• Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities to increase revenue.
• Work closely with Business Development and Recruitment teams to achieve placement and revenue targets.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Identify opportunities to expand existing client accounts and secure new business.

Recruitment Operations

• Oversee recruitment operations to ensure quality, efficiency and service excellence.
• Monitor recruitment performance, turnaround times and client satisfaction.
• Ensure recruitment teams meet placement and service delivery targets.
• Drive continuous improvement within recruitment processes.

Leadership, Training & Performance Management

• Lead, mentor, coach and develop managers and employees.
• Implement performance management processes and measurable KPIs.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and coaching sessions.
• Develop training initiatives that improve employee capability and productivity.
• Build leadership capability across the business.

Financial & Operational Management

• Manage operational budgets and expenses.
• Monitor operational costs and identify efficiencies.
• Ensure resources are utilised effectively.

Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with labour legislation, company policies and contractual obligations.

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant Degree in Business Management, Human Resources, Commerce, Operations Management or a related field.
• Proven management experience in a target-driven environment.
• Proven experience within Recruitment, Temporary Employment Services (TES), Financial Services, Insurance or similar performance-driven industries.
• Proven experience leading sales and operational teams.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen, including budget management.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
• Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport.
