You will identify new opportunities, build prospect summaries, and drive growth through personal selling, trials, and presentations. Strong data analysis, communication with senior management, and rate negotiation are essential.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 completed; a tertiary qualification in Supply Chain or related field is advantageous.
• Previous sales experience in a supply chain environment is advantageous.
• Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Actively identifying new business opportunities in all market sectors and leading the process of progressing them.
• Ensuring relevant prospect information is obtained and compiled into prospect summaries.
• Developing prospects and existing customers by personal selling, costings, trials, presentations, and leading new business projects.
• Liaising with client senior management to ensure long-term relationships.
• Assisting in rate negotiations when necessary and coordinating audits where relevant.
• Providing feedback to customer senior management and monitoring pool usage statistics.
• Ensuring the effective implementation of action plans and monthly reporting.

Our client in the supply chain industry is looking for a strong Business Development Representative to join their team.

This role is based in Kempton Park and will be responsible for the Gauteng region.

Responsibilities

• Actively identifying new business opportunities in all market sectors and lead the process of progressing these opportunities.
• Ensuring that relevant prospect information is obtained and compiled into prospect summaries.
• Actively developing prospects and existing customers by conducting:
• - Personal selling
• - Costings
• - Trials
• - Presentations
• - Lead and participate in new business projects.
• Liaison with client senior management to ensure long term successful relationships.
• Assisting in and conducting rate negotiations when necessary.
• Conducting, or where relevant, coordinating in conjunction with Support, system control audits on customers.
• Provide feedback to customer senior management on control system audits, pool usage statistics, and handle business related problems.
• Ensure the effective implementation of action plans to resolve issues identified.
• Monthly reporting

Qualification & Experience Requirements

• Grade 12
• A tertiary qualification in Supply Chain or a related field will be highly advantageous
• Previous sales experience in a supply chain environment will be highly advantageous
• Ability to comfortably deal with all levels of management both internally & externally
• Ability to analyse production & supply chain data
• Ability to articulate & present effectively findings & recommendations based on data collected through a Value Chain Analysis
• Ability to effectively communicate & coordinate team activities both internally & externally to complete projects with specified time frames
• Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint & Excel
