Placements24 is seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Technician to join our Paarl portfolio in the Western Cape. You will maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and security systems across diverse properties, diagnose faults, and perform preventative maintenance to ensure safe, comfortable environments for tenants.

The role requires hands-on problem solving, the ability to read technical manuals and schematics, and the flexibility to work independently or with the facilities team.

Competenze

• Proven experience as a Building Maintenance Technician or similar trade role.
• Solid understanding of HVAC, electrical and plumbing maintenance.
• Familiarity with building management systems (BMS) and security systems is a plus.
• Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Good time management and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.

About the Role

Our client, a prominent property management group, is seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Technician with a specialization in various integrated systems to join their team in Paarl, Western Cape, ZA . This role is crucial for ensuring the optimal functioning and upkeep of diverse building systems, including HVAC, basic electrical, plumbing, and security access controls. The ideal candidate will possess a broad range of practical maintenance skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently across different building infrastructure components. You will be responsible for routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and timely repairs to ensure a safe, comfortable, and functional environment for building occupants. This hands‑on position requires strong problem‑solving capabilities and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of the facilities management team. Your work will directly impact the operational efficiency and tenant satisfaction within properties in the Paarl, Western Cape, ZA region.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Good physical condition, with the ability to lift heavy objects and work in various environments.
• Valid driver's license.
