Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an accomplished Bridge Engineer to join our client’s Randburg team. This hybrid role combines on-site collaboration with remote work for selected project phases, focusing on design, analysis, and management of bridge construction projects to ensure safety and longevity.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in Civil Engineering (Structural/Bridge), Pr. Eng with ECSA, 7+ years in bridge design and construction, and proficiency in MIDAS Civil and CSiBridge.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural or Bridge Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) registration with ECSA is essential.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in bridge design and construction.
• Proficiency in bridge design software (MIDAS Civil, CSiBridge) and related analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze bridge types (beam, arch, suspension).
• Perform structural calculations and prepare drawings/specifications.
• Conduct feasibility studies and condition assessments of bridges.
• Ensure designs comply with national and international bridge design codes.
• Collaborate with other disciplines, architects and construction teams.
• Oversee bridge-related construction activities during site visits.
