Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proficient Structural Design Engineer for a hybrid role in Polokwane. You will lead structural analysis and design for buildings and infrastructure, ensuring safety and code compliance while collaborating with architects and project teams.

The candidate should hold a BEng in Civil or Structural Engineering with at least 5 years of experience and familiar with SAP2000, Etabs and Prokon. ECSA registration is advantageous.

Qualifications

• BEng or equivalent in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in structural design.
• Professional registration with ECSA is advantageous.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software (SAP2000, Etabs, Prokon).
• Strong understanding of concrete and steel design principles and construction techniques.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure using advanced engineering software.
• Develop detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications for tender and construction.
• Conduct site visits to verify design assumptions and monitor quality of structural work during construction.
• Collaborate with clients, architects, and contractors to address design challenges and ensure project requirements are met.
• Ensure all designs comply with the latest National Building Regulations and SANS codes.
• Provide technical support and guidance to project teams throughout design and construction phases.
