Job summary

Hr Co in Ballito, KwaZulu-Natal, seeks a resourceful Bookkeeper to own the financial administration, support stock control and coordinate the warehouse. The role covers end-to-end bookkeeping, supplier/customer invoicing, bank reconciliations, VAT submissions, and payroll for a small team.

Responsibilities include stock records, regular stock takes, stock discrepancy reconciliation, warehouse organization, and basic job coordination.

Qualifications

• 4+ years experience as a Bookkeeper, preferably in an SME environment.
• Experience with stock control and stock taking.
• Experience using accounting software (Sage or Pastel highly preferred).
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles (debits, credits, reconciliations).
• Ability to produce basic financial reports.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to take ownership.

Our Ballito based client in the renewable energy sector requires a resourceful Bookeeper to take ownership for the company's financial administration, support stock control and co-ordinate the warehouse.

Key Responsibilities

Bookkeeping & Finance

• Full bookkeeping function
• Capturing supplier and customer invoices
• Bank reconciliations and transaction processing
• VAT submissions and basic SARS compliance
• Payroll processing and related submissions (small payroll)
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records
• Generating basic management reports (P&L, balance sheet)
• Assisting with monthly cash flow tracking and forecasting

Stock & Warehouse Oversight

• Managing and maintaining accurate stock records
• Conducting regular stock takes
• Reconciling stock discrepancies
• Ensuring warehouse organisation and control processes are followed
• Supporting basic job/work order coordination (low volume)

Administration & Operations

• Filing and document management
• Assisting with general business administration
• Supporting ad hoc operational tasks when required
• Answering phones or assisting with general office duties if needed

Minimum Requirements

• 4 years plus experience as a Bookkeeper (preferably in an SME environment)
• Experience with stock control and stock taking
• Experience using accounting software (Sage or Pastel highly preferred)
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles (debits, credits, reconciliations)
• Ability to produce basic financial reports

• Experience in a small business where multiple roles were required
