Job summary

Kabstrading Co in Durban seeks a skilled welder/boilermaker to fabricate, weld and maintain mining equipment and structures, reading engineering drawings and fabrication specifications.

You will measure, cut, bend and shape steel and other materials, perform MIG, TIG, arc and CO welding, inspect for defects and assist with installation, modification and alignment of plant equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform fabrication, welding and boilermaking activities on mining equipment and structures.
• Conduct repairs and maintenance on plant equipment, chutes, hoppers, conveyors, pipelines and structural components.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, diagrams and fabrication specifications.
• Measure, mark, cut, bend and shape steel and other materials according to specifications.
• Carry out MIG, TIG, arc and/or CO welding as required.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on structural steelwork and mechanical components.
• Assist with the installation, modification and alignment of plant and equipment.
• Inspect equipment and structures to identify defects, damage and potential failures.
