Job summary

Kabstrading Co in Pietermaritzburg seeks an experienced welder/fabricator to manufacture gates and fencing components to approved dimensions and job specifications. You will MIG-weld and fabricate steel parts, read measurements and job cards, and ensure workmanship meets quality standards in a safe, orderly workshop.

You will measure, mark, cut, fit and assemble, check alignment and weld quality, maintain equipment, and support other steel-work tasks as required to sustain production.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture and fabricate gates to approved dimensions, specifications and job requirements.
• Fabricate fencing components, brackets, supports and related steelwork.
• Manufacture razor wire brackets and associated security-fencing components.
• Perform general MIG welding and steel fabrication.
• Measure, mark, cut, fit and assemble steel accurately.
• Read and work from measurements, sketches, job cards and production instructions.
• Check finished work for alignment, weld quality, dimensions and overall workmanship.
• Maintain welding equipment, tools and a safe, orderly fabrication work area.
• Assist with other steel-work manufacturing requirements as operationally required.
