Job summary

Kabstrading Co in Durban is seeking a skilled welder/fabricator to manufacture and fabricate gates to approved dimensions, specifications and job requirements. You will read measurements, mark, cut, fit and assemble steel, performing general MIG welding and steel fabrication.

The role requires attention to detail, maintaining safe, orderly fabrication areas, checking weld quality and dimensions, and assisting with other steel-work manufacturing tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture and fabricate gates to approved dimensions, specifications and job requirements.
• Fabricate fencing components, brackets, supports and related steelwork.
• Manufacture razor wire brackets and associated security-fencing components.
• Perform general MIG welding and steel fabrication.
• Measure, mark, cut, fit and assemble steel accurately.
• Read and work from measurements, sketches, job cards and production instructions.
• Check finished work for alignment, weld quality, dimensions and overall workmanship.
• Maintain welding equipment, tools and a safe, orderly fabrication work area.
• Assist with other steel-work manufacturing requirements as operationally required.
