Job summary

SMEC Durban division seeks an experienced Draughting professional to lead 3D modelling, BIM implementation and standardisation of drawings for water infrastructure projects. You will mentor junior staff, develop templates, and contribute to project delivery through accurate, high-quality CAD outputs.

The role requires extensive experience in Revit/Civil 3D/QGIS, with a focus on LOD 400-500 detailing, coordination of multi-disciplinary work and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Professional Registration in Autodesk Civil Engineering Draughting (Autodesk Certified).
• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience.
• Minimum of 5 years in a similar position.
• Some key experience in relevant Water Infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in Revit, Civil 3D, QGIS, ACC / BIM360 and ProjectWise.
• Proficiency Modelling and Detailing to LOD 400-500.
• Experience working on major infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• 3D modelling, detailing and quality audits on outgoing drawings/models.
• BIM implementation across projects.
• Standardisation of all drawings on project.
• Develop Autodesk templates/Libraries and tools processes to maintain standards.
• Mentor, train and provide technical support to junior staff.
• Conduct conceptual and detailed design and drafting to prepare technical drawings.
