Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Sales, Kitchen, Stewarding, and AV teams to ensure seamless event delivery.

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene standards.
• Identify opportunities to enhance the guest experience while driving revenue and operational performance.

New opportunity for passionate & experienced Banqueting or Events Managers to join the leadership team at this very busy mixed use hotel property based in the Western Cape, Garden Route. The ideal candidate will be a good communicator, friendly, guest centric & with excellent financial acumen. As Banqueting Manager, you will oversee the planning and execution of all events, ensuring seamless service delivery while maintaining the highest standards of guest satisfaction, operational efficiency, and profitability. Working closely with the Sales, Culinary, and Operations teams, you will play a key role in creating memorable experiences that keep guests returning.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operation of the banqueting and events department.
• Deliver flawless execution of weddings, conferences, private functions, gala dinners, and lifestyle events.
• Manage, coach, and motivate the banqueting team to consistently exceed guest expectations.
• Coordinate closely with Sales, Kitchen, Stewarding, and AV teams to ensure seamless event delivery.
• Monitor labour costs, departmental budgets, inventory, and operational efficiencies.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene standards.
• Identify opportunities to enhance the guest experience while driving revenue and operational performance.

Requirements

• SA national or existing valid rights to work
• A valid driver’s license
• A minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent, with a Diploma in Hospitality, knowledge of SAP advantageous
• 2 years previous experience as a Banqueting/ Events Manager or Assistant Banqueting/ Events Manager within a busy hotel, resort, conference venue, or lifestyle destination (4-5*)
• Commercially minded with experience managing labour costs and departmental budgets.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences in a fast-paced environment.
