South African Airways is seeking an Aviation Technician in Kempton Park to perform maintenance on aircraft engines, airframes and components, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and manufacturer instructions. You will service, inspect, repair, overhaul and test components, using AMOS and other approved tooling in a controlled hangar environment.

The role requires Grade 12, an Aviation Apprenticeship/Trade Test, and ideally an AME license.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent - Essential.
• Passed an Aviation Apprenticeship and Trade Test - Essential.
• Must hold current AME license - Advantageous.
• Driver’s license Code B - Essential.
• Hold certification - Advantageous.
• Valid Regulatory Training (Human Factors, EWIS, FTS, SMS, SAAt Docs & Procs) - Advantageous.
• Completed Apprenticeship and have 2 years’ experience in a hangar or a workshop environment.
• Computer literate on AMOS and management reports.
• Have a valid Code B driver’s license.

Responsabilités

• Perform servicing, inspections, repairs, overhauls, maintenance, testing, trouble shooting and modifications to aircraft components on time in accordance with regulatory authority requirements.
• Operate support and specialized test equipment and ensure correct and serviceable tooling is obtained and utilized to perform overall/maintenance of components as per approved documentation.
• Inspect conditions of parts/components as per applicable regulatory authority requirements and institute corrective actions when required.
• Plan and process parts.
• Perform all reasonable tasks requested by Senior Licence Technician/Production Leader and comply with work instructions manual.
• Feedback to Senior Licence Technician/Production Leader on technical discrepancies and daily progress activities to ensure that productivity and safety standards are met.
• Optimize and improve utilization of equipment; complete and stamp all relevant documentation pertaining to each task and in accordance with company policy and regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical assistance in other areas; attend meetings/training/workshops as requested.
