Job summary

South African Airways (Pty) Ltd. seeks Aviation Technicians for the SAT Trimming pool during the technical peak season. The role focuses on servicing, inspections, repairs, overhauls and testing of aircraft engines, airframes and components in line with task cards and regulatory requirements.

Ideal candidates hold Grade 12, an aviation apprenticeship, and have AMO/AMOS familiarity. A Code B driver’s license and relevant hangar experience are preferred; fixed-term contract with multiple vacancies

Qualifications

Grade 12 or equivalent is essential.
Passed an Aviation Apprenticeship and Trade Test is essential.
Must hold current AME license is advantageous.
Driver’s license Code B is essential.
Certification is advantageous.
2 years’ experience in a hangar or workshop environment.

Responsibilities

Perform servicing, inspections, repairs, overhauls, maintenance, testing, trouble shooting and modifications to aircraft components on time in accordance with regulatory authority requirements.
Operate support and specialized test equipment and ensure correct tooling is used for maintenance of components.
Inspect parts/components per regulatory requirements and initiate corrective actions as needed.
Plan and process parts.
Complete and stamp relevant documentation per policy and regulatory requirements.
Provide technical assistance in other areas.
