Job summary

South African Airways (Pty) Ltd. seeks an Aviation Technician for the SAT Structures pool to perform servicing, inspections and repairs to aircraft engines, airframes and components in accordance with task cards and regulatory requirements.

The role requires a Grade 12, aviation apprenticeship, trade test and AMO/AMS familiarity; a current AME license is advantageous and a Code B driver’s license is essential. Work in Gauteng at Kempton Park with fixed-term contracts.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent, essential.
• Aviation Apprenticeship and Trade Test completed, essential.
• Current AME license advantageous; Code B driver's license essential.
• Experience: 2 years in a hangar or workshop environment.
• Computer literate on AMOS; able to generate management reports.

Responsibilities

• Perform servicing, inspections, repairs and overhauls to aircraft components in line with task cards and regulatory requirements.
• Operate test equipment; ensure correct tooling is used for maintenance.
• Inspect parts and take corrective actions when needed.
• Plan and process parts; prepare work area per manufacturers' guidelines.
• Complete and stamp documentation; maintain compliance with policies.
• Provide technical assistance in other areas as required.
• Attend meetings and trainings; participate in production and safety sessions.
• Return tooling and organize spare parts; manage spares lists for assigned components.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and adhere to quality standards.
