Job summary

South African Airways (Pty) Ltd. seeks an Aviation Technician in Kempton Park to perform servicing, inspection, repair, overhaul and testing of aircraft engines, airframes and components in line with regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will hold Grade 12 or equivalent and an Aviation Apprenticeship with trade test (Avionics) is essential; a current AME license is advantageous. Proficiency with AMOS, Excel and MS Office is expected, with willingness to work extended hours and

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent - Essential
• Passed an Aviation Apprenticeship and Trade Test (Avionics) - Essential
• Must hold current AME license - Advantageous
• Driver’s license Code B - Essential
• Hold certification - Advantageous
• Valid Regulatory Training -
• Human Factors, EWIS, FTS, SMS, SAAt Docs & Procs - Advantageous
• Completed Apprenticeship and have 2 years’ experience in a hangar or a workshop environment
• Computer literate on AMOS and management reports
• Have a valid Code B driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Perform servicing, inspections, repairs, overhauls, maintenance, testing, and modifications to aircraft components on time per requirements.
• Operate and ensure correct tooling and testing equipment is used per approved documentation.
• Inspect parts in line with regulatory requirements and initiate corrective actions.
• Plan and process parts.
• Return tooling and clean work areas after tasks.
• Provide technical assistance and attend training sessions.
• Order spares, collect them from stores and create GT/3 spares lists.
• Create repair documentation after components are received.
