Placements24 is seeking an innovative Process Control Engineer to enhance automation and control systems for chemical operations in Randburg. You will design, implement, and maintain advanced control systems using DCS and PLCs to boost safety, efficiency, and product quality.

The ideal candidate holds a BEng or BSc in Chemical, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering with 4+ years of process control experience, and proficiency in Honeywell Experion or Emerson DeltaV.

Qualifications

• B.Eng. or B.Sc. in Chemical, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering.
• 4+ years of experience in process control engineering, preferably in the chemical or petrochemical industry.
• Proficiency with major DCS platforms (e.g., Honeywell Experion, Emerson DeltaV) and PLC programming.
• Strong understanding of process dynamics, instrumentation, and control theory.
• Experience with simulation and modeling of control systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, and commission advanced process control strategies (e.g., APC, PID tuning).
• Configure and maintain Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
• Develop and implement process automation solutions to improve efficiency, safety, and product quality.
• Troubleshoot control system issues and provide ongoing support to operations teams.
• Collaborate with process engineers to integrate new control strategies into existing operations.
• Develop P&IDs, control narratives, and documentation for automation projects.
