Job summary

Elchemie Recruitment seeks an Assistant Contract Manager - Housekeeping in the Western Cape capetown area to support daily hotel housekeeping operations. You will supervise on-site cleaning staff, coordinate shifts, and ensure hygiene standards and safety compliance across sites.

The role requires 2–4 years of supervisory experience in housekeeping within hospitality, strong communication, and ability to handle flexible shifts. Reliable transport is essential for shift handovers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–4 years of supervisory or team-lead experience strictly within Housekeeping and Cleaning Services (Hotel, Resort, Lodge, or Hospitality environment).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to lead floor staff, address operational challenges, and liaise professionally with hotel stakeholders.
• Industry Knowledge: Good working knowledge of hotel housekeeping standards, cleaning equipment, chemical handling, and room inspection protocols.
• Shift Availability: Fully available and willing to work flexible shift rosters, including night shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required by hotel operations.
• Transport: Must have reliable, dependable transport to and from work for scheduled shift handovers in the East Rand.
• Qualifications: Matric pass; Tertiary qualification in Hospitality, Operations, or Facilities Management is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supervisory Leadership & Team Support: Direct, motivate, and supervise site cleaning teams and room attendants across rotating shifts; coordinate daily shift rosters, manage attendance, and conduct on-site training.
• Housekeeper Collaboration & Quality Control: Work with the Executive Housekeeper and site management; conduct regular inspections to ensure hygiene, quality, and turnaround standards.
• Operational Execution & Client Relations: Support the Contract Manager with daily client queries, SLA compliance, and immediate service delivery adjustments.
• Stock & Resource Management: Monitor cleaning chemical usage, issue consumables, audit equipment maintenance, and maintain inventory records.
• Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to Occupational Health and Safety standards, color-coded sanitation, chemical safety (MSDS), and workplace rules.

About the Role
