Placements24 is seeking an Aquatics Centre Coordinator in Mahikeng, North West. You will oversee the safe operation of the swimming pool, manage lifeguard teams, and lead swimming lesson programs to serve diverse age groups.

The role requires strong leadership, organization, and a passion for water safety and community recreation. A hands-on position with weekend/public holiday availability is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience in aquatics management or pool operations.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client, a modern leisure facility in Mahikeng, North West , is seeking a highly organized and safety-conscious Aquatics Centre Coordinator. This role is responsible for the efficient and safe operation of the swimming pool and related aquatic facilities. The Coordinator will oversee lifeguard teams, manage swimming lesson programs, ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, maintain water quality, and provide excellent customer service to pool users. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aquatic management, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for water safety and recreational swimming. You will be instrumental in ensuring a positive and secure environment for all patrons, contributing to the overall success of the leisure centre. This is a hands-on role requiring vigilance and dedication to public safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the aquatics centre, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors.
• Manage, train, schedule, and supervise a team of lifeguards and swimming instructors.
• Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and water quality standards and regulations.
• Implement and manage the swimming lesson program for various age groups and skill levels.
• Conduct regular checks of pool water chemistry and maintain accurate records.
• Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of the pool area, changing rooms, and associated facilities.
• Respond effectively to emergencies and administer first aid or CPR as needed.
• Manage pool bookings for private events or group activities.
• Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional and timely manner.
• Maintain inventory of pool supplies and equipment, and manage procurement.

Requirements
