Placements24 is seeking an Aquatics Program Coordinator for our client in Tembisa, Gauteng. You will design and oversee swimming programs, supervise lifeguards and instructors, and enforce safety protocols while promoting community participation.

The role requires leadership, organizational skills, and a commitment to water safety. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is expected. Based in Gauteng with access to high-quality facilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in aquatics program coordination or management.
• Current Lifeguard and First Aid/CPR certifications are mandatory.
• Experience in developing and delivering swimming lesson curricula.
• Strong understanding of water safety principles and risk management.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Proven ability to manage staff and volunteers effectively.
• Experience with budget management and program promotion.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, schedule, and oversee all aquatic programs, including swimming lessons, water aerobics, and competitive team training.
• Recruit, train, and supervise lifeguards and aquatic instructors, ensuring certifications are up-to-date.
• Develop and enforce safety protocols and emergency procedures for all aquatic activities.
• Manage program budgets, including equipment procurement and maintenance.
• Promote aquatic programs to the local community and drive participation.
• Maintain accurate records of program attendance, participant progress, and incident reports.
• Collaborate with other departments to coordinate facility usage and special events.
• Stay informed about current trends and best practices in aquatics programming and safety.
• Conduct regular facility inspections to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met.
