Placements24 is seeking an Apprentice Wind Turbine Technician to join our client near Mossel Bay, Western Cape. This field-based role provides hands-on training in installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of wind turbines, with emphasis on safety and reliability.

You will work alongside senior technicians, gain practical skills, and progress through a structured apprenticeship toward a certified technician credential, with mentorship and on-the-job learning.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the assembly, installation, and commissioning of wind turbine components.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on wind turbines, including lubrication, inspections, and cleaning.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in turbine systems.
• Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with all site-specific safety protocols.
• Work at heights on wind turbine towers, following strict safety procedures.
• Utilize specialized tools and diagnostic equipment for troubleshooting.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts used, and time spent.
• Respond to turbine alarms and troubleshoot issues in a timely manner.
• Collaborate effectively with senior technicians and team members.
• Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance technical skills.
