About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Wind Turbine Technician to join their operations team in the Richards Bay area. This hands-on role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of wind turbines, ensuring optimal performance and maximum energy output. You will be part of a critical team responsible for the reliability of our wind energy infrastructure in the KwaZulu-Natal region. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, comfortable working at heights, and committed to upholding the highest safety standards in a challenging industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting on wind turbines according to established procedures.
• Conduct repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems of turbines.
• Install new components and equipment as required for turbine upgrades or replacements.
• Adhere strictly to all health and safety protocols, including working at heights and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Document all maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs accurately in the company's systems.
• Collaborate with site managers and fellow technicians to ensure efficient turbine operations.

Requirements

• Trade qualification as an Electrician, Mechanical Fitter, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with industrial machinery, preferably in the energy sector or with rotating equipment.
• Ability to work safely at heights and in various weather conditions.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass a medical examination.
