Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Analytical Chemist to join its Quality Control team supporting Mossel Bay operations remotely. You will perform analyses of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products using validated methods, and ensure data integrity in a QMS-driven environment.

The role requires 3+ years in analytical chemistry, strong HPLC/GC expertise, and knowledge of method validation and ICH guidelines. Work from home with support for Mossel Bay-related operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Analytical Chemistry or related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in analytical chemistry, preferably in QC.
• Proficiency with HPLC and GC instruments.
• Understanding of method validation and ICH guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of materials using validated methods.
• Operate and maintain instruments including HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, and Karl Fischer titrators.
• Develop and validate new analytical methods per regulatory standards.
• Document testing procedures, results and deviations per QMS.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation and methods; identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Review data and report OOS results promptly.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Analytical Chemist to join their Quality Control department, operating remotely to support their operations near Mossel Bay . This role is essential for ensuring the quality and integrity of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products through rigorous analytical testing. You will utilize a range of sophisticated analytical techniques and instrumentation to generate accurate and reliable data, contributing to product safety and efficacy. Key Responsibilities

• Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products using validated analytical methods.
• Operate and maintain a variety of analytical instruments, including HPLC, GC, UV-Vis spectrophotometry, and Karl Fischer titrators.
• Develop and validate new analytical methods as required, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
• Document all analytical testing procedures, results, and deviations meticulously in accordance with Quality Management Systems (QMS) .
• Troubleshoot analytical instrumentation and methods, identifying root causes of issues and implementing corrective actions.
• Review and interpret analytical data, ensuring results meet predefined specifications and reporting any Out-of-Specification (OOS) results promptly.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an analytical chemistry role, preferably within a QC environment.
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining analytical instruments, especially HPLC and GC .
• Strong understanding of analytical chemistry principles, method validation, and regulatory guidelines (e.g., ICH).
• Excellent attention to detail, data integrity, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively in a remote setting.
