Placements24 is seeking a Senior Analytical Chemist for its Randburg-based Quality Control and Research department. You will develop and validate analytical methods using HPLC, GC, MS, and NMR, and ensure product quality and safety through precise analysis and reporting.

You will operate and maintain advanced instruments, validate methods per ICH guidelines, and contribute to new product development while upholding regulatory compliance within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in analytical chemistry.
• Extensive hands-on experience with chromatographic techniques (HPLC, GC) and spectroscopic methods (UV-Vis, FTIR, MS).

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate analytical methods for raw materials, intermediates, and finished products using HPLC, GC, MS, and NMR.
• Perform routine and non-routine analysis of samples, ensuring accuracy, precision, and timely reporting of results.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain a range of analytical instruments, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
• Interpret analytical data, identify deviations from specifications, and investigate root causes.
• Contribute to the development of new chemical products and processes by providing analytical support.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant quality standards, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols within the Randburg laboratory.

• Proficiency in method validation according to ICH guidelines or similar standards.
• Strong understanding of chemical principles and experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment in Randburg.
