Placements24 is seeking an Analytical Chemist to join a Quality Control laboratory in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. The role focuses on ensuring quality of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products through rigorous chemical analysis using HPLC, GC, and UV-Vis spectroscopy.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry and at least 3 years of analytical chemistry experience, with solid knowledge of GLP and data integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field.
• Minimum 3 years in analytical chemistry, preferably in a Quality Control setting.
• Proficiency with analytical instrumentation including HPLC, GC, and UV-Vis spectrophotometry.
• Solid understanding of GLP and regulatory guidelines.
• Strong data analysis and meticulous record-keeping abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform chemical tests and analyses on raw materials, intermediates, and finished products using HPLC, GC, spectroscopy, and titration.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain analytical instruments for optimal performance and accuracy.
• Develop and validate new analytical methods as required by product development or regulatory changes.
• Document testing procedures, results, and observations in line with SOPs and GLP standards.
• Investigate OOS results, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Participate in internal and external audits to ensure laboratory compliance.

You will be responsible for operating and maintaining sophisticated analytical instrumentation and adhering to strict quality standards and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of chemical tests and analyses on raw materials, intermediates, and final products using techniques such as HPLC, GC, spectroscopy, and titration.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain analytical instruments, ensuring their optimal performance and accuracy.
• Develop and validate new analytical methods as required by product development or regulatory changes.
• Document all testing procedures, results, and observations accurately in compliance with laboratory SOPs and GLP standards.
• Investigate out-of-specification (OOS) results, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.

• Solid understanding of quality management systems, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and regulatory guidelines.
• Strong data analysis skills and meticulous record-keeping abilities.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in Richards Bay .
