Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Airport Operations Coordinator to lead day-to-day operations at a Randburg facility. You will schedule flights, assign gates, oversee passenger services and coordinate with airlines, ground handlers and control towers to ensure safe, efficient operations.

The role requires strong leadership, superb communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced aviation environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in airport operations, airline management, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor flight arrivals and departures with efficient turnaround and gate usage.

• Resolve operational delays, cancellations, or disruptions as they occur.
• Oversee passenger services including baggage handling, check-in and security procedures.
• Ensure compliance with airport policies, safety regulations and security protocols.
• Develop and implement operational plans to improve efficiency and service quality at Randburg hub.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and proactive Airport Operations Coordinator to oversee and manage the day-to-day operational activities at a key facility in Randburg . You will be responsible for coordinating various airport functions, including flight scheduling, gate assignments, passenger services, and ground handling logistics. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex and time-sensitive environment. You will play a crucial role in ensuring seamless airport operations and a positive passenger experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor flight arrivals and departures, ensuring efficient turnaround times and gate utilization.
• Liaise with airlines, ground handlers, air traffic control, and other airport stakeholders.
• Manage and resolve operational issues that may arise, such as delays, cancellations, or disruptions.
