Placements24 is seeking an experienced Aerodrome Operations Officer in Centurion to manage daily airport operations, ensuring safety, efficiency and regulatory compliance across all activities.

You will coordinate with ATC, airlines and emergency services, implement procedures, and drive operational improvements while maintaining a high standard of serviceability and security at the aerodrome.

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Aerodrome Operations Officer to manage and oversee the daily operations of the airport in Centurion . This vital role ensures the safe, efficient, and compliant functioning of the aerodrome, coordinating with various stakeholders including air traffic control, airlines, and emergency services. You will play a key part in maintaining operational integrity, responding to incidents, and implementing operational improvements. This position is ideal for a proactive individual with a strong understanding of aviation regulations and a commitment to excellence in airport management, contributing to a secure and efficient aviation hub.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage aerodrome activities, including flight movements, parking, and ground traffic.
• Ensure compliance with all national and international aviation regulations and standards.
• Develop and implement aerodrome operational procedures and emergency response plans.
• Coordinate with air traffic services, airlines, security, and emergency services for seamless operations.
• Conduct regular inspections of aerodrome infrastructure and facilities to ensure safety and serviceability.
• Investigate operational incidents and anomalies, reporting findings and recommending corrective actions.

Requirements

• Relevant degree or diploma in Aviation Management, Airport Operations, or a related field.
• Proven experience in aerodrome operations, air traffic control, or airport management.
• In-depth knowledge of ICAO Annex 14, national aviation legislation, and safety management systems.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage complex operational challenges, with willingness for irregular hours.
