Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated AI Ethics Consultant to advise on responsible AI development and deployment for client projects in Soweto. This contractor role focuses on assessing ethical risks, policy recommendations, and guiding teams in trustworthy AI practices.

You will work in a hybrid setting, collaborating with diverse stakeholders, and stay abreast of evolving regulations and global trends in AI ethics.

Qualifications

Advanced degree in ethics, philosophy, law or CS with a focus on AI ethics.
Proven experience as an AI ethics consultant or similar role.
Strong understanding of AI technologies and societal implications.
Knowledge of ethical principles, guidelines and regulatory landscapes.
Excellent analytical, research and report-writing skills.
Strong communication and presentation abilities in hybrid settings.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive ethical reviews and impact assessments of AI systems.
Develop and refine AI ethics policies, frameworks and guidelines for clients.
Advise project teams on mitigating ethical risks in AI development and deployment.
Research and stay updated on global AI ethics trends and regulations.
Prepare detailed reports and present findings to stakeholders.
Facilitate workshops and training sessions on responsible AI practices.
