Placements24 is seeking an AI Ethics and Governance Lead in Soweto to establish robust ethical frameworks for AI development and deployment. You will collaborate with legal, compliance, engineering, and data science teams to embed ethical considerations across the AI lifecycle.

The role requires proactive leadership, strong understanding of AI's societal impact, and a commitment to building trust and accountability in AI systems, with a focus on responsible technology in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Law, Ethics, Public Policy, Computer Science, or related field.
• Demonstrated experience in AI ethics, responsible AI, data governance, or related areas.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts and their ethical implications.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive AI ethics and governance policies and procedures.
• Conduct ethical risk assessments and audits for AI systems, identifying and mitigating bias and fairness concerns.
• Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to relevant regulations and standards.
• Provide training and guidance on AI ethics and responsible AI practices to relevant teams.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders on AI ethics matters.
