Placements24 is seeking a dynamic Youth Engagement Officer to lead after-school programs in Stellenbosch, Western Cape. This part-time role focuses on creating engaging activities that foster learning, skill development and social interaction for youth.

Ideal candidates are passionate about working with youth, possess strong communication and facilitation skills, and bring creativity to program design. The role emphasizes safety, inclusivity, and community involvement.

Qualifications

• Experience with children or adolescents in educational or community settings.
• Excellent communication and group facilitation skills.
• Creative, proactive and able to work independently or with a team.
• Willingness to undergo a background check and provide references.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and deliver after-school activities that engage youth.
• Supervise and mentor participants, fostering inclusion and safety.
• Ensure safety and well-being of all participants at all times.
• Build positive relationships with youth, families and schools.
• Collaborate with team to develop engaging program content.
• Maintain attendance records and basic documentation.
• Promote the program to potential participants and community.
• Manage program resources and materials efficiently.
• Identify needs of individual youth and adapt activities.
• Contribute to ongoing improvement of the program.
