Job summary

TSU Group Holdings is seeking a dedicated Control Centre CCTV Operator in Stellenbosch to monitor CCTV feeds, dispatch responses, and maintain incident records. The role requires bilingual communication (Afrikaans and English), PSIRA grade A, and the ability to work a night shift from 17:00 to 05:00.

Applicants must reside in Somerset-West, Strand, or Stellenbosch and have their own transport. The position is full-time and现场-based, with a focus on rapid incident response and accurate reporting.

Responsibilities

• Emergency Response: contact emergency providers when needed and coordinate with responders during incidents.
• Incident Response: promptly respond to security incidents and maintain logs and reports for authorities.
• System Maintenance: perform regular checks on surveillance and alarm systems and report malfunctions.
• Documentation: maintain records of surveillance activities and generate detailed daily reports.
• Surveillance Monitoring: operate CCTV systems (Eocortex and Axis) to continuously observe designated areas and identify suspicious activity.

Job description

Job Purpose:

The Control Centre CCTV Operator will be responsible for ensuring the effective monitoring of all cameras, promptly identifying and respond to security incidents, and maintain a secure environment for the client. Dispatch armed response vehicles and EMS or SAPS when necessary. Download any footage need for the prosecution of perpetrators and complete any required statements. Keep detailed records, reporting to the client all daily activities.

The controller should possess excellent attention to detail, strong observational skills, vigilant individual and the ability to make quick and informed decisions and work well under pressure. Additionally, experience with Eocortex & Axis, would be beneficial for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Emergency Response:
   • Contact emergency or relevant emergency providers as needed.
   • Coordinate with security personnel and emergency responders during incidents.
2. Incident Response:
   • Respond promptly to security incidents by reacting to the situation and taking appropriate action.
   • Coordinate with security personnel and responders to address potential threats or breaches.
   • Maintain detailed incident logs and provide accurate and timely reports to the appropriate authorities.
3. System Maintenance:
   • Conduct regular checks on surveillance equipment, alarm systems, and monitoring systems to ensure proper functionality.
   • Report any malfunctions, faults, or irregularities to the designated technical support team and Control Centre manager.
4. Documentation:
   • Maintain accurate records of surveillance activities, incidents, and responses.
   • Generate detailed reports for management, summarizing daily activities and incidents.
5. Surveillance Monitoring:
   • Operate and monitor CCTV systems, including Exocortex & Axis to ensure the continuous observation of designated areas.
   • Detect and analyze suspicious activities or security breaches through surveillance cameras.

Requirements:

• Candidate must reside either in the Somerset-West, Strand or in the Stellenbosch area.
• Candidate must be able to effectively communicate in Afrikaans and English.
• Working hours will be 17h00 to 05h00.
• Candidate must have sober habits.

On the job requirements:

• Candidate must possess excellent communication abilities. The candidate must be able to effectively communicate with security personnel, law enforcement and other relevant parties during stressful and intense situations. The candidate must be able to remain clear-headed during heated moments and must be able to make split second decisions.
• The Candidate must be able to ensure compliance with the relevant laws, regulations and company policies related to surveillance activities. It is the candidate’s responsibility to remain updated regarding industry trends and advancements in surveillance technology.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Candidate must have a minimum of PSIRA grade A security qualification
• The candidate must have 2+ years CCTV monitoring experience with dispatching is needed for this role.
