Job summary

Rio Tinto in Richards Bay is seeking two Analysts for the Command Centre (Shift D & C) responsible for 24/7 security operations, staff supervision, and data analysis to support safety and security of people, assets, and infrastructure.

The role requires 3-5 years in a Command Centre within security, mining experience, PSIRA Grade A or B, and proficiency in SAP and MS Office, with a valid South African driver's license. Shift work in a safety-focused, inclusive environment is offered.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 Mathematics and Physical Science
• A valid South African Driver's License
• 3-5 years of working experience within a Command Centre in law enforcement, emergency services, or private enterprise security operations
• Experience within a mining environment
• PSIRA Grade A or B Security Practitioner
• Computer literacy SAP; MS Office (basic)

Responsibilities

• Supervising all operational activities related to the Command Centre during a shift
• Ensuring compliance with legislation and security policies while implementing measures
• Providing specialist guidance to ensure responses align with policies and achieve outcomes
• Evaluating performance of security personnel and sharing insights with fellow analysts
• Providing timely communication and actionable intelligence to protect people and assets
• Maintaining detailed incident records and reporting to the Superintendent Command Centre
• Ensuring accurate information on the Online Intelligence platform and confidentiality
• Monitoring CCTV and maintaining 24-hour liaison with sites and supervisors
