Job summary

Cook Children's Health Care System in Fort Worth, TX seeks a Child Life Specialist to assess, educate, prepare and support patients and families throughout the health care experience.

The role collaborates with doctors, nurses and the care team to promote growth and development and to facilitate positive adjustment, integrating Cook Children's values of Safety, Integrity, Caring, Collaboration, Giving and Innovation.

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, on-site in Fort Worth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Child Life, Child Development or closely related field.
• Completion of Child Life internship.
• Certified Child Life Specialist, by exam, preferred within one year of hire.
• American Heart Association Health Care Provider BLS is required within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess, educate, prepare, and support patients and families throughout the health care experience.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other health care providers to facilitate growth and positive adjustment.

Education
