Overview

At Compass, our mission is to help everyone find their place in the world. Founded in 2012, we’re revolutionizing the real estate industry with our end-to-end platform that empowers residential real estate agents to deliver exceptional service to seller and buyer clients.

This is a fully onsite role and will report into our San Jose Office (Willow Glen). You will spend a significant portion of your time meeting clients and prospects in the field. While your administrative and team collaboration tasks will take place at our office, your primary focus will be building relationships and driving revenue through in-person interactions.

Our Strategic Growth team is the face of the company and the engine of our market expansion. As a Strategic Growth Manager (SGM), you are directly responsible for driving net-new revenue. The SGM’s role is to bring top producing agents to Compass by effectively selling the Compass value proposition (technology, marketing, culture and growth). Successful SGMs influence top agents to leave their current brokerage and join Compass. Since every agent is an independent contractor they can take their business wherever they receive the best value and support.

The sale is conducted directly with decision-makers, reducing some of the hassles of selling to large corporations.

Responsibilities
  • Build relationships with top producing agents and teams to drive net-new revenue for Compass.
  • Sell the Compass value proposition (technology, marketing, culture and growth) to prospective agents and brokerages.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support onboarding and ensure agents understand the benefits of Compass for their business.
Metrics and Compensation
  • This is a quota-carrying role. The quarterly quota is based on the number of principal agents you successfully recruit to Compass. Deal sizes range from $200k to $3M+, with an average time to close of about 30 days.
  • Quotas can be achieved by recruiting individual agents or large agent teams. Quotas are based on the prior 12 months performance of the agent or team and are not contingent on future production at Compass.
  • You will help agents understand how their business and clients benefit by moving to Compass.
Qualifications
  • B.A. or B.S. with 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a glass-half-full mentality
  • Self-starter with the ability to exercise judgment and solve problems without direct supervision
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to lead client meetings and presentations
  • Highly organized with the ability to multi-task and meet multiple deadlines
  • Track record of excellence across strategic, operational, and detail-oriented responsibilities

Compensation: The base pay range for this position is $100,000–$110,000 annually, with a potential bonus target of $30,000–$60,000 and the potential for upside based on performance. Pay offered may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package. Base pay is location-based. Minimum wage for the position will be met.
