Here at the British Swim School, we are more than just a fun, surface-level swim lesson provider. We strive to make a substantial impact within our communities to combat the tragically-high child drowning statistics. We invest in quality team members to teach our lessons with the mindset that we are two schools in one - a survival school first and a learn-to-swim school second. As a result, we can support our mission "to ensure that every person, regardless of age or ability, has the opportunity to become a safe and happy swimmer".

The Position:

The Swim Instructor's number one priority is on teaching the aquatics program at British Swim School. Talking to the students and families about the program. Demonstrating skills, trying your best, communication and holding yourself accountable.

Your Typical Responsibilities:

  • Follow British Swim Schools curriculum to ensure safe and competent lessons.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with students’ parents and/or guardians. As well as the team.
  • Teach British Swim School lessons with encouragement and positive reinforcement.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 16 or older.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable in and around the water
  • Willing to undergo a background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in teaching children/adults.
  • Have or willing to obtain-Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED Certification(s)
  • Graduated High school or at least on track to.

Hours:

We are a newer company to the area. Currently operating and looking for someone on Monday/Wednesday evenings and Saturday Mornings at Tri C metro.

Compensation: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour

Our instructors should like working with this age group and be good at making parents feel comfortable. It's helpful if you have experience with children or in a child-focused job, but it's not required if you can show the right attitude. The job comes with specialized training in our advanced and unique British Swim School approach.
