Job summary

Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) is seeking a Manager for Bronx Zoo Operations to lead facilities, exhibits, and public spaces maintenance, ensuring safety and high standards across the campus. You will direct the Operations team, coordinate with trades, and manage preventive maintenance and capital projects.

The role requires strong facilities knowledge, project leadership, and ability to work with diverse departments.

Qualifications

Minimum of 7 years of facilities maintenance, repair, and construction management experience.
At least 5 years in project management or leadership of skilled trades or construction.
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, plumbing, structural, and operational issues.
Strong organizational and multi-project management skills on a large campus.
Experience with CMMS and preventive maintenance programs preferred.

Responsibilities

Direct the Bronx Zoo Operations Department across facilities and exhibits.
Coordinate work between departments and trades (Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, Machine Shop Maintainers).
Set priorities, access, scheduling, and communicate status and impacts.
Oversee preventive maintenance, inspections, and safety compliance with records.
