Fort Wayne Zoo is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to join our team. The role requires a 40-hour work week year-round and offers comprehensive benefits for eligible staff.

The technician will perform maintenance across carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, rides, and related areas, including snow removal and small engine care. A valid driver’s license and the ability to operate Zoo vehicles are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate Zoo vehicles required.
• Three years maintenance experience in three of six fields preferred.
• Forklift, bobcat, and small engines experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs technical, general, and preventative maintenance tasks in carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and fabrication.
• Maintains rides and vehicles; operates rides, vehicles, and equipment as needed.
• Ensures compliance with state and Zoo regulations and SOPs.
• Keeps work areas clean and organized; reports project status to Facility Manager.
• Supports diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and belonging initiatives.
