The City of Coral Gables seeks a Code Enforcement Officer to perform technical, office, and field work enforcing zoning, city, and county codes. Inspections for violations, notices, citations, and investigations of complaints are core duties. The role includes courtesy inspections, helping violators achieve compliance, preparing evidence for court, and reporting graffiti.

Valid Florida Driver's License required; F.A.C.E. Level 1 within one year.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent, or GED.
Two years of progressively responsible experience in code inspection or construction trades.
F.A.C.E. Level 1 certification must be obtained within one year of hire.
Valid Florida Driver's License.

Responsabilités

Inspects for violations of ordinances and city codes; issues notices and citations.
Investigates complaints and conducts courtesy inspections as needed.
Explain codes and permit procedures; assist in forms and referrals.
Imposes liens and serves enforcement orders; assists in prosecutions.
Gathers and presents evidence for court hearings; writes reports.
Completes reports and maintains records; operates required equipment.
Reports and removes graffiti; works flexible hours and weekends.
Participates in hurricane preparedness and disaster survey teams.
