Job summary

Gfoat is hiring a Code Enforcement Officer to support the City’s local enforcement program. The role involves inspecting residential and commercial properties for compliance with health, safety, nuisance, traffic, and zoning ordinances, and issuing notices and citations as needed.

The officer will respond to complaints, educate the public on regulations, and maintain thorough case records. Occasional fieldwork and public education activities are expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; valid Texas Driver’s License; ability to obtain Certification within 18 months; ability to work evenings and weekends; ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Enforce health, safety, nuisance, traffic, and zoning ordinances; inspect premises for compliance; issue notices of violations and citations as required.
• Receive and respond to complaints; conduct investigations and recommend resolutions.
• Provide information to violators and negotiate solutions; maintain detailed records of violations and actions.

Education

Registered Code Enforcement Officer Certification (or ability to obtain within 18 months)
