Job summary

City of Minneapolis seeks a leader to coordinate the city's Zero Waste and Climate Equity initiatives, building an equitable solid waste system. You will guide research, engagement, and program evaluation across departments and with stakeholders to advance recycling goals.

The role requires managing budgets, contracts, and reporting while engaging diverse communities and ensuring program outcomes align with environmental justice objectives. On-site work is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Natural Resources or Public Administration.
• 5+ years of related experience with at least 1 year in supervision.
• Experience addressing complex environmental and administrative issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate long-range goals for policies and programs in City waste plans.
• Facilitate and represent the City in stakeholder groups and community meetings.
• Develop data collection and reporting systems to track baselines and progress.
• Create educational materials for all sectors on waste reduction and recycling.
• Develop budgets, RFPs, contracts, and manage vendor agreements.
