Job summary

The City of Minneapolis seeks a leader to drive its zero waste and climate equity initiatives. You will coordinate research, stakeholder engagement, and program evaluation across city departments and community groups to reduce waste and advance environmental justice.

Responsibilities include managing staff, developing partnerships, overseeing budgets and contracts, collecting data, and communicating policy implications to elected officials and the public.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree as listed in Minimum Education.
• At least 5 years of related experience with at least 1 year in a supervisory capacity.

Responsibilities

• Prepare long-range goals and lead research, planning, stakeholder engagement and program evaluation for policies identified in City Zero Waste and Climate Equity plans.
• Facilitate and oversee/represent the City in stakeholder work groups, advisory committees, task forces and community meetings to incorporate feedback.
• Manage staff and coordinate with departments and industry stakeholders to develop data collection and reporting systems for baselines and progress reports.
• Collect and compile data through engagement, surveys and waste sorts to guide programs and educational needs.
• Develop and implement waste-related public engagement plans and create educational materials for all sectors.
