Job summary

The Visual Arts Program Manager at Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston leads and improves arts programming for youth ages 6-18, ensuring engaging and developmentally appropriate experiences across visual, performing, culinary, and literary arts.

Based in Charlestown, MA, the role requires strong leadership, data-driven program management, and collaboration with schools, volunteers, and community partners to foster creativity and positive outcomes for members.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Direct experience developing and delivering arts programs for youth; classroom and non-classroom settings a plus.
• Know trends in arts programming and use of technology in the arts.
• Must be CPR and First Aid certified.
• Minimum one-year supervisory experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Office applications and web-based systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, and improvement of arts programming for youth ages 6-18 across visual, performing, culinary, and literary arts.
• Deliver developmentally appropriate learning experiences that promote creativity and engagement.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive environment with positive behavior management.
• Monitor program quality against BGCB standards and use data to drive improvements.
• Build partnerships with schools, community organizations, and volunteers.
• Provide leadership and supervision to staff, work-study students, and volunteers.
• Manage onboarding, training, mentoring, and performance evaluations.
• Oversee budgets and facilities to support high-quality programs.
