Job summary

Allegheny County DHS is seeking a Professional Development and Advancement Manager to oversee and advance staff development within the Youth Support Partner Unit. The role collaborates with leadership to build a culture of continuous learning and career pathways for staff across education and professional avenues.

The position focuses on developing training, coordinating internal and external offerings, and tracking progress while aligning with the unit’s long-term strategic goals.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field and two years of professional experience in human services or related field, including supervisory experience.
• Or a Bachelor’s degree with four years of experience, including three years supervisory.
• Experience with coaching, training, and professional development services.

Responsibilities

• Oversee planning and implementation of professional development services for all staff within the YSP Unit.
• Facilitate workforce development opportunities for staff, including planning, training and tracking for staff growth.
• Lead planning and rollout of professional development collaborations with leadership to support ongoing education.
• Assist supervisory staff in identifying professional development or career advancement opportunities.
• Develop and maintain calendars and tracking tools for training, coaching and education.
• Coordinate external training materials and delivery for DHS staff and new hires.
• Prepare reports on staff development, coaching and training achievements and challenges.
• Coordinate projects, mentoring, activities and supervision of Youth Support Coordinators.
