Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware is seeking a Youth Activity Worker- Sports Activities to develop and implement sports and recreation programs for youth ages 6-12 under the supervision of the Program Director.

The role focuses on creating safe, engaging activities, planning club-wide events, and upholding health and safety standards while helping participants build life skills through sports and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Must be 20 years of age or older and able to drive an 8-passenger van with a valid license and <5 points.
• Must have or complete First Aid/CPR certification within two months of hire.
• High School diploma and experience working with Elementary and Middle School students.
• Must pass FBI clearance, Delaware Criminal History Background Check, and National/State Sexual Abuse and Child Abuse Registry checks as per DelaCare regulations.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate well-rounded, organized sports programs aligned with core program areas and Youth Development Strategy.
• Assist in planning and operating club-wide activities.
• Assist in guidance and discipline of club members.
• Meet Office of Child Care Licensing training requirements (18 hours).
• Ensure administrative duties are completed timely.
• Develop and implement sports programs for different age groups, including events and tournaments.
• Inspect facilities for safety and ensure health and safety compliance.
• Promote programs to attract participants and engage the community.
