Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware seeks a Youth Activity Worker to design and implement sports and recreation programs for children aged 6-12. Under supervision, you will plan activities, supervise participants, and help create a positive, safe environment for youth development.

The role requires driving a passenger van, First Aid/CPR, and regular training to meet licensing standards. It offers a full-time schedule with afternoon hours and benefits.

Qualifications

• Age 20+ and able to drive an 8-passenger van.
• First Aid/CPR certification or within 2 months of hire.
• High school diploma; experience with elementary/middle students.
• Must pass FBI/State background checks per DelaCare.
• Ability to plan and run youth sports and recreation activities.
• Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate organized sports programs aligned with core areas and Youth Development Strategy.
• Assist in planning and operating club-wide activities.
• Assist in guiding and disciplining club members.
• Meet annual training requirements (18 hours) and maintain safety standards.
• Develop positive image and community presence for the clubs.
• Manage sports events, tournaments, and age-appropriate programs.
• Inspect facilities for safety and maintain equipment.
